The recent Canadian government says that “Iran remains one of the most significant cyber threats facing Canada, with government-sponsored and state-affiliated cyber actors using cyber operations to advance the country’s broader objectives.”

On February 28, Prime Minister Mark Carney and Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand issued a joint statement saying “the Canadian government is closely following the Iran-related conflict throughout the Middle East and is urging all Canadians in Iran to seek shelter. Canadians in the wider region should follow local advice and take all necessary precautions.”

The statement also said Canada “supports the United States to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon and to prevent its regime from continuing to threaten international peace and security.”
