“If Sherrone Moore, who was the first African head coach at the University of Michigan, there is a community of coaches who would like to follow that, even if they accept that. He will accept that he will succeed. He will be treated like Mel Tucker and Michael Haywood.”
Tucker was dismissed from Michigan State due to allegations of harassment, as was Haywood from Pittsburgh. The former manager of ESPN Jemeleli Hill gave similar sentiments, and threw names and Petrino, citing “the difference of who gets a second chance to be a head coach.”
“Or I think Sherrone Moore is a cornball, before we start painting to shoot him, Mel Tucker and Ime Petrino, Bobby Petrino,” Hill Pitino, Mike Price, among others. “The difference is who gets a second chance to be a head coach. And you can imagine who usually gets another chance.”
“Rick Pitino is seen as a redemption story. Black coaches generally don’t get that. I don’t care about Sherrone Moore. But unfortunately the coaches are coming, and that’s not right,” Hill said.
Prosecutors allege more contact with staff through phone calls and texts after the breakup, prompting the woman to contact the University of Michigan and cooperate with their investigation. Moore was subsequently fired from his position as head football coach, which prosecutors say prompted him to show his home.
Soore then allegedly ‘exterminated’ his accommodation, grabbed a butter knife and scissors from the kitchen, and began threatening his life. According to prosecutors, Moore allegedly told staffers, “and” you can ruin my life. “
