After winning the season’s downhill with von, Vonn was beaten by only one person this time: Germany’s Emma Aicer was 0.24 seconds faster.
Vonn made the mistake of placing a jump mid-run down the gap, where she nearly lost her balance quickly and fell too far on her left leg to get back.
“I’m a little tired since yesterday, there were a lot of emotions,” Vonn said on Switzerland’s RTS. “I thought I was going down well from the top, then I lost my balance, I fell on my waist. Yes, I didn’t go down the way I wanted.”

Sofia Goggia, the 2018 Olympic champion from Italy, finished third, 0.29 behind, and Breezy Johnson, the American World Champion, was fourth, 0.40 behind.
Vonn, who is preparing for the Olympics in Milan Cortina, entered the first boat and went down the solar Corviglia course. But the 22-year-old Aicher dropped next and quickly pushed Vonn out of the Leader’s seat.

Third Air Ormpic Medalist he told CBS Sunday morning In March he “never thought that” he would be talking about going to the Olympics. Just a nod to Italy means “you’re already winning,” he said.
“I’m going to be in trouble,” Vonn said. “I’m 40 years old, and then I’ll be 41. But I know my skiing is there. I think I can actually ski better now than before.”

When Vonn crossed the finish line and realized she was too scared of Goggia, Vonn celebrated, thinking she had won. He let out a scream, hit the wind with one of his poles and raised his arms over his head, shaking his head in disbelief.
It was Vonne’s 140th podium result, he reached the record-410th World Cup race. Former skier Götschl held the previous record with 409 races.
It was Aicher’s second consecutive World Cup success. He’s an extraordinary skier who is all around competing in all four commands – like vonn at the height of his career.
Aicher also finished on the podium in slalom this season, placing third in Levi, Finland.
Vonn can aim for another victory in the super-g in St. Moritz on Sunday – in a race to stop fellow reed Mikaela Shiffrin and is expected to compete.
