President Donald Trump used his Christmas Eve Truth Social post to tout the achievements of his administration and to criticize those on the left who he accuses of trying to “destroy” the US.

“Merry Christmas to all, including the evil left who are doing everything they can to destroy our country, and failing miserably,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We no longer have open borders, men in women’s sports, transgender for everyone, or weak law enforcement. What we have is a record stock market and 401Ks, the lowest crime numbers in decades, no inflation, and yesterday, 4.3 GDP, two points better than expected.”

“Taxes have given us billions of dollars in growth and prosperity, and the strongest national security we’ve ever had. We’re being respected again, perhaps like never before. God Bless America!!!,” added the president.

In the first year of Trump’s second term, the administration launched a major crackdown on illegal immigration, introduced countervailing tariffs, worked to reduce DEI in federal programs and took steps to fulfill other campaign promises.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Wednesday that it has arrested 17,500 illegal immigrants since Trump signed the Laken Riley Act into law in January 2025. In a separate DHS announcement, the Department released the “2025 Worst of the Worst Criminal Illegal Aliens,” saying 70% of all ICE detainees are illegal immigrants or “criminal” US detainees.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem in a statement on the effects of the Laken Riley Act said “President Trump has given us the authority to arrest and remove millions of violent criminal aliens who were released from the United States by previous administrations. Now, these criminals will face justice and be removed from our country.”
