The defense chief is ‘very proud’ of China’s endorsement

An American defense company executive who has been personally sanctioned by China for his company’s arms sales to Taiwan says he wears the ban as a badge of honor.
“It’s an award I’m very proud of,” Anduril founder Palmer Luckey told FOX Business anchor Liz Claman from CES 2026 in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Just one week after Washington announced an arms sales package worth more than $10 billion to Taiwan, Beijing imposed sanctions on 20 American defense companies and 10 top executives, including Luckey.

China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned the US of “dangerous measures to arm Taiwan” in a December 26 statement.
“We reiterate that the Taiwan question is at the core of China’s interests and the first red line that should not be crossed in China-US relations,” the ministry said. “Any company or person who sells weapons to Taiwan will pay the price for wrongdoing.”

Luckey is one of 10 officials banned from entering or doing business in China, and his company’s assets in the country have been frozen.
The head of the technology company appeared to refer to China’s sanctions against him as a long time in the future.

“Anduril, my company, has been approved for years, actually,” Luckey said. “But finally I was personally punished, to be told that all my Chinese property will be confiscated, and I will not be able to enter China or any of their territories that they have taken over, I’m actually very happy, I’m very proud of that.”

The US has realized it cannot afford “business as usual” when it comes to Chinese aggression against Taiwan and others, Luckey said.

“We must speed up the process of repentance [Taiwan] enter a stinging porcupine that doesn’t like to step, no one wants to eat,” he said.

When Claman asked the businessman what weapon he sold to Taiwan, he described a variety of land, air and sea defense systems.

Most of Anduril’s designs are custom made “follow” China over Venezuela, he added.

“And I think that’s why you didn’t see – you didn’t do a lot of Anduril stuff in Venezuela. But if something happens – if anybody ever walks with China – you’re going to see a lot of Anduril stuff in the mix.”
