A video that went viral on social media on Sunday appeared to show rioters disrupting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeting a suspected child sex offender in Minnesota.

The video, posted on X and viewed more than 750,000 times within hours, shows ICE confronting people in St. Paul said they were honking their car horns and interfering with federal police when they tried to arrest the suspect.

The agent then points to a nearby car.

“That car over there is honking and interfering with our investigation when we’re trying to arrest a child who is sexually abusing. That’s what you’re protecting. You’re crazy.”

The video then cuts to the agent standing in the snow next to the car screeching repeatedly.

“Trust me, I understand,” the agent told the other occupant of the car before they honked.

Responding to the video on X, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin on Sunday praised law enforcement for continuing their work amid increasing resistance.

“God bless men and women [ICE] again [Customs and Border Protection] who put their lives on the line to arrest these criminals,” McLaughlin wrote.

White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt also weighed in, writing, “God Bless ICE” – a message that was retweeted by the official White House X account.

Elon Musk also responded to the video, writing simply, “You’re crazy.”

The incident occurred amid tensions in the Twin Cities between federal authorities. Earlier this month, 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed on Jan. 7 is a police officer when it is suspected that he blocked an immigration campaign in the city and drove towards the police officer.

Activists throughout the Twin Cities have followed and harassed federal agents as they went about their business, some throwing snowballs at the agents or shouting obscenities using bull horns from just feet away.

Some clashes led to immigration police deploying pepper spray and tear gas.
