A fourth alleged rape victim testifies against the son of Norway’s future queen: “He didn’t stop”

The fourth woman in the middle of the rape case against son of a Norwegian princess testified in an Oslo court on Wednesday about the alleged rape in 2024, while being investigated.
Marius Borg Hoiby, the son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, 29, from her relationship before her marriage to Prince Haakon who became her heir in 2001. 38 casesincluding raping four women while they were asleep or unconscious.
Hoiby has pleaded guilty to several lesser charges, but denies rape. He faces up to 16 years in prison if convicted.
The court heard testimony on Wednesday from a woman who narrated the alleged rape on the night of November 1-2, 2024. Hoiby is accused of committing sexual acts while sleeping and filming these incidents without her knowledge.
As with the other three accused of raping, these incidents are said to have taken place at night while they were drinking – it is suspected that Hoiby used cocaine – and after the first consensual sex in the hotel room of the young woman.
“I was getting more and more tired. I felt like I was sleeping and he just didn’t stop. When I got tired, I started participating,” he told the court.
After telling him he wanted to sleep, he said he was woken up by a “hard blow” to his private part.
“It was painful,” he said, adding that “I think I just stopped, and went back to sleep.”
Hoiby is accused of filming 27 videos and taking four sexual pictures that night, some of which, according to the prosecutor, showed the woman sleeping.
Hoiby was supposed to testify on Wednesday, but will instead take the stand on Thursday.

Right from the start, he denied that he was raped and maintained that all sex was consensual.
When the fourth case of rape was suspected, he was already under police investigation. Hoiby was arrested on Aug. 4, 2024, accused of assaulting his partner the night before.
The investigation into the incident uncovered a number of other alleged crimes, including video footage on her phone and laptop that police believe is of the rape.
When they were confronted by the police, none of the women knew what had happened to them or whether these actions could be considered a crime.
“I had a recollection of what happened…but in my mind, I still didn’t describe it as assault,” the young woman told the court on Wednesday.

A few days before the trial, Hoiby was arrested on new charges alleging assault, threatening with a knife and violating a restraining order.
This case has deeply embarrassed the royal family, especially his mother he suffers from chronic lung disease and torn between her role as mother and future queen.
Prince Haakon issued a statement in late January saying neither he nor Mette-Marit would attend the trial.
Hoiby was raised by the royal couple and his siblings, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus. Unlike them, he has no formal role in society.
In his statement, Haakon referred to Hoiby’s “independent” status.
“Marius Borg Hoiby is not a member of the Royal House of Norway and therefore he is independent. We care about him, and he is an important member of our family. He is a citizen of Norway and, thus, has the same responsibilities as everyone else – and the same rights,” said Haakon.
