The suspect accused of shooting and killing two people at a Rhode Island rink on Monday wrote on X about going “BERSERK” after the actor insisted that Rep. Sarah McBride, D-Del., is a man.
McBride identifies as a transgender woman.
Robert Dorgan, 56, appeared to be upset after actor Kevin Sorbo wrote on X that “Tim McBride is a man. The community knows this when I’m wrong,” alongside a photo of the Delaware Democrat.
In response, Dorgan – whose profile goes by the name Roberta Dorgano – wrote: “Keep insulting us. But don’t be surprised why we’re going BERSERK.”
In another post, Dorgan responded to Infowars host Alex Jones, who wrote “Very scary” in response to Sorbo’s post.

“stfu (shut if— up) Alex don’t hurt a different person so much. then wonder why trans ppl go fkn BERSERK,” Dorgan wrote.
The posts came one day before Dorgan allegedly opened fire inside the Dennis M. Lynch Arena in Pawtucket during a hockey game between Coventry and Blackstone Valley Schools in what police described as a “family dispute,” Pawtucket Police Chief Tina Goncalves said.
“It seems that this was intended, which may have been a family dispute,” said Goncalves.
Video from inside the stadium shows players diving and fans fleeing their seats as shots rang out during a high school game. At least a dozen violent shots can be heard in the video, along with people screaming as they run for cover.
Authorities say two people died and three were seriously injured. Dorgan died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
A source at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives told Fox News that the gunman killed his wife and shot his three children before shooting himself in what the source described as an incident of domestic violence.
The police have not yet publicly disclosed their intention.

McBride responded to the incident in a statement to Fox News Digital.
“This is a horrible, horrible crime and I hope the killer rots in hell,” McBride said. “My prayers are with the victims and their loved ones who are grieving right now.”
Investigators continue to review surveillance footage and witness accounts as they piece together a timeline of the shooting.
It comes as court records show Dorgan has had a documented history of conflicts with relatives in recent years, including conflicts related to her gender transition, WPRI reported.
In 2020, Dorgan reported to North Providence police that she had undergone gender surgery and said her father-in-law wanted her out of the house because of it.

According to court documents cited by WPRI, Dorgan accused her father-in-law of using a derogatory term for transgender people and threatened to retaliate if she didn’t leave. The father-in-law was charged at the time, although prosecutors later dismissed it.
Court documents also show Dorgan’s ex-wife initially cited “gender reassignment surgery, narcissistic traits + personality disorder” in the divorce papers before the grounds were amended to “irreconcilable differences.”
The divorce was finalized in 2021. Divorce records list Dorgan as living in Jacksonville, Florida, at the time and working as a truck driver.

And in 2020, Dorgan accused his mother of hitting him and acting in a “violent, threatening or disorderly manner,” according to police records cited by WPRI. Her mother was charged with assault and battery and disorderly conduct, though the charge was later dismissed, court records show.
The argument also referred to Dorgan’s feud with his father-in-law. According to court documents, Dorgan told police his father-in-law “told me that if I didn’t drop the charges for assaulting my mother that there would be more retaliation and that was another reason for me to be killed.”
