Former President Barack Obama said during a podcast on Saturday that Democrats have a “difficult” job of governing, and that Republicans are easy because they just destroy “things”.
“Look, I think we have to admit that we got a tough job, don’t we?” Obama said. “So we believe in government as a tool for good – as a powerful multitasking force and as a way to make sure the planet doesn’t bleed. To make sure that as we move forward and the economy grows, everyone, not just some, benefits, and children get a good education. And that means we have to think about the consequences of our actions. find effective rules and apply strict rules to achieve our goals?”
Obama spoke with podcast host Brian Tyler Cohen and was answering a question about whether the Democratic leadership understands the fight against the GOP.
He added, “Demolition doesn’t need all that.”

TRUMP URGES GOP TO ‘FINISH THE SHUTDOWN’ ON NUCLEAR PROGRESS IN SENATE FILIBUSTER
The former president said that Republicans are unveiling a set of rules and regulations that already exist, and that it is easy to do.
“I say that because we have to accept the responsibility and the challenge that our job is going to be a little more difficult, because in order to do things, like, let’s say the Affordable Care Act, we have to gather a majority, and we have to deceive, and we have to convince. in order to get things done, just because, that’s how it’s always been done,” Obama said.
Obama explained that the filibuster in the Senate frustrated him as president, saying that Democrats were trying to preserve something that prevented the government from working.

“The Senate is already structurally skewed and anti-official, right? Like- it’s hard for a lot of people to do things, whether you’re trying to pass civil rights legislation in the 60s or you’re trying to get gun control legislation or what have you, because even though a lot of people support it, Delaware and Wyoming have the same number of senators as California, right? in making the government successful, which makes people feel like the government is corrupt and doesn’t care about them,” said Obama.
He said it gave people like President Donald Trump “an opening.”
Trump has called for an end to the impeachment trial in the Senate, which has also found support from some Republicans.

Obama said he doesn’t think Democrats should “repeat” the behavior of Republicans but said they shouldn’t stick to tradition.
“I don’t want us to repeat the behavior of the other side. I don’t want to have a slash and burn strategy where we don’t care about the law. We don’t care about other guards in our democracy. We start telling lies and ignoring the truth in the way the other side looks free right now, because if it’s like this because of what we’re fighting for, then we’re fighting.’ I’m punked or saps and I do it, or sticking to tradition just for tradition’s sake,” he said.
