One of Iran’s top officials issued a direct threat to President Donald Trump on Thursday while warning that US military action would provoke retaliation from American forces in the Middle East, according to Iranian media reports.

The comments came as well-placed sources confirmed to Fox News Digital that at least one US aircraft carrier had been redeployed to the Middle East amid rising tensions with Tehran.

Senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general Mohsen Rezaei, a member of Iran’s Expediency Discernment Council, reportedly made the threat during a public address.

“Trump said his hand is on the gun. We will cut off his hand and finger,” said Rezaei, according to Iran International.

The center also said that Rezaei is adamant that Iran will abandon any idea of a ceasefire if attacked.

“If we move forward, there will be no more negotiations for a ceasefire,” he said. “You ignore the important restraint and patience we have shown. Stop right now. Go back, otherwise none of your bases in the region will be safe,” added Rezaei.

The threat came as at least one US aircraft carrier may be heading to the Middle East, according to sources.

Officials have not identified whether it is the USS Abraham Lincoln, currently operating in the South China Sea, or one of the two cargo carriers that departed Norfolk and San Diego earlier this week.

Military sources said the move to the region could take at least a week, with additional US assets, land and sea expected to follow to provide Trump with military options if he were to order an attack on Iran.

Rezaei is one of the most powerful soldiers in Iran. He served as the head of the IRGC from 1980 to 1997 and is currently vice president for economic affairs, secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council for Economic Coordination and a senior figure in the Principleist Resistance Front of Islamic Iran.

In 2006, Argentine authorities issued an international arrest warrant for Rezaei in connection with the 1994 bombing of the Jewish community center AMIA in Buenos Aires. He was sanctioned by the US Treasury Department in January 2020 under Executive Order 13876 for furthering the objectives of destabilizing Iran.

During his tenure, the IRGC increased repression at home and supported terrorist groups abroad, including Hezbollah.

“The Internet is still completely blocked. The soldiers raided residential areas and went to rooftops. They started destroying satellites,” Safavi said before describing clashes that continued Wednesday night into Thursday in Tehran and Kermanshah, including gunfire.
