LARRY KUDLOW: Trump is bending history toward freedom

Trump is bending history toward freedom.

Today’s White House meeting with President Trump and the leading American oil companies is another important step in the process that began last weekend when the narco-terrorist and gun runner Nicolás Maduro, along with his communist wife, were forcibly removed in an unusual military action that finally threw them in prison in Brooklyn, New York.

Oh, and let me never forget Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries from Brooklyn, right?

I prefer to call all this the Trump Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine, which prevents outsiders from exercising any significant influence in the Western Hemisphere. And I will add, as I did 10 days ago, that the wise actions of Mr. Trump is bending the curve of history to stop the march of communism that was happening in America. It is noteworthy in today’s meeting, by the way, President Trump said that China and Russia can actually buy oil from Venezuela, but they have to go through the United States to do trade. And I think we will charge them market prices, not the deep discounts that Venezuela offers to its fellow communists.

Every drop of oil that comes out of Venezuela is now controlled by the United States. Russian tanks are stationed left and right along the coast of Venezuela with great importance. Venezuela has already put in a tranche of 30 million barrels, which may increase to 50 million, then 100 million, and that oil sale will go into some kind of fund run by the White House, where the President, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and others, will decide on the release of funds. But money and oil will now be controlled by the USA. Venezuela will only buy products made in America, such as American agriculture and medicine, medical equipment, and various electrical equipment and energy resources, according to Mr. Trump’s Social Truth.

So far, Delcy Rodriguez, who is the acting president, and his brother Jorge Rodriguez, who heads the National Assembly, two staunch Chavistas, have behaved well. But it’s an iffy story, and the oil men are all worried about the government’s stability as they contemplate their new investments. They want to help Mr. Trump. They want patriotism here. They know how important stakes are. They can make money at $50 a barrel, which is President Trump’s goal. But to quote the president himself, the transition to any form of democracy must be “stable, consistent and intelligent”.

Fat men want to know the rules of the game and the complete safety picture. Chevron has the largest share and can move up to 200,000 barrels a day, up from about 50,000 a few years ago. All in all, with state-owned and private oil companies, you can probably squeeze a million barrels a day, up from something like 800,000.

But I think this whole story is about more than just oil. The oil will take care of itself.

Actually, in my opinion, it is about kicking Russia and China out of our country. It is about strangling Cuba forever. And it is about the possible fall of the Iranian mullahs as the protests in Tehran intensify.

Let me say this again. Mr. Trump is bending history towards freedom. That’s really what this is about.
