Books I Finished This Week

Advent – Book #1 completed in 2026! I loved this one by Sherri Gragg! We have a podcast episode coming up on Tuesday that I think you’re going to love! He brought out the story of Christmas in ways I never imagined by sharing so much historical and cultural content.

Words Like Honey: How to Avoid Unintended Hurt, Show Kindness, and Grow Your Child’s Faith in What You Say – I’ve been challenged by how little phrases we say – even with good intentions – can cause harm to our children. I didn’t agree with everything in this book, but I thought it was a very rewarding read! Listen to the podcast I did with the author here.

The Wilds – I really enjoyed all three books in this series! This involved me and I had no idea how it would end until I got into the book. However, I didn’t like the ending – it felt like it fell flat compared to the rest of the book. That being said, this thread is pretty clean. It has some language and it deals with adult themes but it did it in a way that I felt was not very graphic. They are murder mysteries, though, so you might not agree with me on that!
