The couple swapped corporate jobs and lifetime rental payments for traveling the world — and say the move has significantly reduced their living expenses. They were as surprised as everyone else.

Karen Davies, 58, and Myles Davies, 59, spend about $2,000 to $2,700 a month driving across Europe, they said. Their rent alone was about $1,800, said SWNS media.

Now they travel regularly without additional costs.

The couple, who are based in the UK, left their high-pressure corporate jobs in 2016 for what they planned to be a one-year break, only to never return.

Before making this change, the two said they were burned out by working for many years without stopping.

Balancing multiple businesses and working seven days a week “almost broke them,” says Karen Davies – leaving them exhausted and unfulfilled.

“We had to make difficult decisions, and leaving was not easy, but it was necessary,” she said.

Now, nearly ten years later, they’ve traveled more than 110,000 miles in 30 countries, living full-time in their motor home, which they call “Scoobie.”

“You have to make choices that bring you happiness.”

Since hitting the road, the pair have traveled across much of Europe, from Norway to Portugal, and parts of northern Africa, including Morocco.

Myles Davies now manages his income through investments and rental properties, while Karen Davies works as a writer and yoga teacher, allowing them to keep traveling while earning a living.

They have had to navigate changing travel rules, including restrictions tied to Brexit, which limit how long they can stay in certain European countries, SWNS reports.

Destinations have become more crowded in recent years, forcing couples to explore off-the-beaten-track destinations.

Even with those challenges, the couple said their approach has changed over time.
