An American Airlines plane has possible bullet holes after the Colombian plane

An American Airlines plane was found Monday with bullet holes in the exterior after taking off from Medellin, Colombia, bound for Miami.

The damage was discovered during a routine post-flight inspection of the Boeing 737 MAX 8 at Miami International Airport.

In accordance with Airlive.netthe puncture marks resembled bullet holes and were found in the joint area of ​​the right wing of the aircraft.

American Airlines confirmed to FOX Business that the plane was impacted and is currently being evaluated.

“After a routine check, our teams identified a hole on the outside of one of our aircraft in Medellín, Colombia,” the airline said.

“The aircraft was immediately removed from service for further inspection and repairs. We will cooperate with all appropriate authorities to investigate this incident.”

The plane, registered as N342SX, originally departed Miami on Sunday as Flight AA923 to Medellín’s José María Córdova International Airport, where it stayed overnight in Colombia, according to AirNavRadar.

The next morning, it completed its return leg as Flight AA924, landing in Miami at approximately 10:33 am.

The flight departed without incident on its three-hour trip to the Caribbean, and no one was reported injured, the airline told FOX Business.

During the test, maintenance crews noticed puncture marks on the right aileron, the part of the wing that controls roll and allows the plane to turn, Airlive.net reported.

Although the cause of the shooting is still under investigation, the incident has raised concerns about safety in Medellín. The city, now a popular and popular tourist destination, was notorious in the 1990s for high levels of violence and drug-related crime.

After the discovery, aviation experts at the Miami airport took part temporarily to strengthen the wing, Airlive.net said.

At 8 p.m., about 10 hours after landing in Miami, the plane took off again as a non-commercial flight to American Airlines’ main maintenance center at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

The plane is currently grounded at DFW, where special engineers can inspect the plane and determine if any other systems have been affected.
